Terms of Service

1. About Conserved

Conserved (conserved.io) is a platform that lets you preserve life stories as encrypted timelines. The service is operated from the Netherlands and is governed by Dutch law.

2. Account and registration

To use Conserved you need an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account.

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You provide accurate and current information at registration.
• You use a strong password and keep it secret.
• You are responsible for safely storing your encryption keys. Conserved cannot recover encrypted content for you if you lose your key.

3. Ownership of content

All content you upload or enter remains entirely your property. You grant Conserved only the right to store that content and display it back to you. We claim no ownership rights over your memories, text, photos, or other files.

4. Privacy and encryption

Your content is encrypted before it reaches our servers (client-side encryption). This means we cannot read your content, not even on request. See our Privacy Policy for more details on how we handle your data.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Conserved offers the following subscriptions:

• Free — free of charge, 1 GB storage
• Personal — EUR 7.99 per month, 50 GB storage
• Family — EUR 14.99 per month, 200 GB storage

Paid subscriptions renew automatically each month. You can cancel at any time. After cancellation your account stays active until the end of the current billing period. After that your account is downgraded to the Free plan.

Prices include VAT. We reserve the right to change prices but will inform you at least 30 days in advance.

6. Acceptable use

You use Conserved for personal purposes only. You may not:

• Use the service for illegal activities.
• Overload or abuse the infrastructure.
• Create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
• Circumvent security measures or attempt to access other users' data.

7. Availability

We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime. Planned maintenance is announced in advance. We are not liable for damages caused by temporary unavailability of the service.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time via Settings. On deletion all your data is permanently erased. We may terminate your account upon breach of these terms, after warning, unless the breach requires immediate action.

9. Liability

Conserved is a tool for preserving personal memories. We are not liable for:

• Loss of data due to lost encryption keys (you manage these yourself).
• Indirect or consequential damages.
• Damages caused by force majeure.

Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid to Conserved in the past 12 months.

10. Changes

We may modify these terms. For material changes we will notify you at least 30 days in advance by email. By continuing to use the service after the effective date you accept the modified terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
